Karate

Karate is a Japanese martial art that focuses on developing defensive and counterattacking body movements. It's an unarmed discipline that uses kicking, striking, and defensive blocking with arms and legs. The emphasis is on concentrating as much of the body's power as possible at the point of impact. The core basics of karate are taught during the first three to four months. Regular training in karate can help a student learn the basics in one year. Good form and timing with basic techniques are demonstrated by the student within six months to one-and-a-half years of training.

Gymnastic classes would be conducted along with the karate classes, twice a month as an add-on.Please note that gymnastics classes will be conducted with all safety measures.

Little Karate

The Little Karate Program is for 4 to 6 year old students to learn the physical benefits of martial arts. The program teaches life skills that are essential to a child’s growth and development. These skills include focus, concentration, discipline, respect, and confidence. Many students experience improvement in coordination, flexibility, balance, strength, and body control. Besides success in the martial arts, we believe these benefits help provide a child with the skills necessary for future academic, athletic, and social success. The Little Dragons program prepares our younger students for the Children’s Program, which ultimately leads to Black Belt! Our Instructors and Staff are dedicated to teaching exciting, fast-moving, productive classes - day after day. This program will have 2 Bi-weekly classes each in a month to train in Nunchaku and Gymnastics. Also, seminars on Kata and fighting techniques will be organized to our students, by experienced and skilled guest instructors from across academies.

Martial arts have many positive benefits for children. This program focuses on students of age 7 to 12 and begins with teaching them how to focus, listen and respect others in a safe and fun environment. Through growth and repetition, our program teaches our students to see that daily accomplishments can turn into future successes. Our instructors make the training enjoyable and engaging, while maintaining a disciplined environment. They strive to instill a sense of responsibility and respect for the students and others. This program will have 2 Bi-weekly classes each in a month to train in Nunchaku and Gymnastics. Also, seminars on Kata and fighting techniques will be organized to our students, by experienced and skilled guest instructors from across academies.

Teen Karate

Martial arts for teens are a positive and empowering experience. This program focuses on students of age 13 to 17 and teaches that through hard work in and out of classes, they can succeed, turning daily goals into long-term achievements. Our students’ dedication and commitment combined with positive experience, help them build the confidence for leadership roles in classes and demonstrations. Our instructors also inspire and promote teamwork where students learn how to work together and support one another, creating a sense of responsibility and respect for others. This program will have 2 Bi-weekly classes each in a month to train in Nunchaku and Gymnastics. Adult Karate

Martial arts have many benefits for adults of any age or physical level. It is a full fitness sport, promoting self-defense, health, and positive self-image. Our curriculum calls for physical and mental conditioning while mastering skills such as kicking, punching, and sparring. The complete body workout improves coordination, balance, strength, flexibility while also providing an outlet for stress relief. Many adults enroll in our program with their children. Family martial arts is a great way to have a common goal and interest and to share a positive experience. This program will have 2 Bi-weekly classes each in a month to train in Nunchaku and Gymnastics. Self-defence

Nanchaku

The nunchaku is most widely used in martial arts as a training weapon, since it allows the development of quicker mind / body coordination and teaches 3 dimensional movements and patterns.

What you will learn:

  • The beginners or foundational Nunchaku form performed with a single weapon.
  • How to bounce the Nunchaku off your body for fast changes of direction.
  • Switching the weapon form one hand to the other with no pause in movements.
  • Spinning and figure eight spinning in vertical and horizontal planes.
  • The Intermediate double Nunchaku form with many symmetrical double strikes.
  • Advanced double Nunchaku with asymmetrical spins and figure eight spins with fast body spins and steps.
  • Complex asymmetrical strikes and figure eight spins while turning and transferring the strike directions.
  • Hand rolling Nunchaku with both hands while constantly changing spin direction.

Certified Instructor Training

This Program will assess and excel you to teach in the Martial Arts industry. Below is the course map on which an instructor would be trained and would be certified by AK Martial Arts and Fitness Academy.
